Bed and breakfast in Shinnston, West Virginia
Gillum House Bed & Breakfast is located in Shinnston, West Virginia.
West Virginia is a 4-Season State. Skiing is in the mountains but Shinnston is in the foothills so come to the covered bridges, wineries, and all the winter things to do.
Shinnston, although only 6+ miles from I-79, offers relaxation or activity. Hike the West Fork River Rail-Trail , visit the covered bridges, winery, or other places and things available in the area - the antique shops and WV craft shops are open all year. Kathleen will create a routing just for you and your interests that will give you a day of sites and activities and then bring you back to the bed & breakfast.
The innkeepers do promise to attempt to give you a "best night's sleep" and an ample breakfast to remember (in a good way).
And Gillum House Bed & Breakfast has a NEW Amenity - Now located on the side of the house at the driveway is Tessie, the Tesla Charger, her cousin Unie, the Universal Charger, and we also can charge electric motorcycles (free for registered guests).
Awaken to the aroma of baking each morning of your stay as muffins are baked, adapted to be very low fat or fat-free (sugar-free available) for a healthy, delicious breakfast. Every attempt is made to accommodate special diet requirements. They use locally or West Virginia grown/produced products as much as possible in our breakfasts.
Remember the second B in Bed & Breakfast means breakfast and breakfast at the Gillum House is worth getting up for. The complimentary full breakfast (cook's choice) is served at the time you specify each morning (between the hours of 4:00 AM and 10 AM - please). Everything they serve is fresh-baked "from scratch" as they do not buy mixes. Egg dishes are heart-healthy and made with herbs from our herb garden as seasoning. We offer sweeteners for every taste - sugar, and in the packets we offer the pink, blue, yellow, and green packets for everyone's preferences. Sometimes we play with the fruit as seen below. Entrees may be the ham-egg cups, Egg Bake, biscuits & gravy, or a baked oatmeal so good guests write back asking for the recipe or one of our other many entrees.
